Mixture Screw with a hand knob?
05/23/12 at 14:01:36
Hello
I'm looking for a mixture screw with a hand knob so I don't have to carry around a flat head? Or maybe a link to one on a website or eBay? Or even the size and measurments of the mixture screw so I can look one up to buy? I'd really like to be able to adjust it on the go without tools, just my fingers!
Thanks

there are a few available for dirt bikes. You'll have to find a dirt bike carb that uses the same mixture screw.
no street bike will be available with it, as they are all plugged.

The air/fuel mix screw should seldom if ever need be adjusted once it is adjusted correctly. I mean, why would it ? I know mine has not been adjusted in 5 yrs... 7K miles,.....or at least the brass plug was in it when I got it 3 yrs ago, and still is.
Ok, I know,......that didn't help you w/ your question one bit,....sorry.

Well,.. if yer' picky about popping... you can adjust a bit goin' through the mountains... 5k elevation increase will cause a lean decel pop...
... but no real need...
I just enjoys the pops... (you can tell by how blue my pipes are)...

I've learned to control the pops w/ the throttle.
The only 2 occasions I don't let it pop is if I see a cop or horses. I can't believe how stupid horses get when they hear the pops. And I'm to old to be fist fightin some horse rancher because his stupid horses will run right thru fences etc !

Jacob,
You might try contacting these folks:

I bought two of their "T"-Handle pilot screws for my KLR650s. The screws they sent were high quality, but expensive, items.
IHTH!

If I still worked in a shop with a lathe, I'd make my own. There's not much to it. I was toying with the idea of ordering me a spare one and modify it. Tap a hole in the top and extend it with a knurled screw.

Pull the one ya have out, get a piece of brass tubing & find a knob ya like, build it,.A well designed piece will solder together & not let go.. Ive got a modification inside the guts of a 22 pistol I have several hundred rounds thru & Ive never had to fix it,
