Got Air.

Got some air today. Bike left the ground, a$$ left the seat, doing 50 on a relatively new patch of road I had been over several times before. Apparently the paving company did not pack it properly before putting the asphalt down, and it settled.
Quite a surprise. Shocked
TTGL I was going strait.

Did you let out an old "Yeee - haaaa, who's your daddy" when you landed safely?

There was a spot on interstate 5 south just past western and I'm usually doing "65"   Roll Eyes  where I can get air, I don't know if the bike gets air... but I do.

there was probably enough complaint about some mad man flying thru the air and they reground the freeway.  or it's my 440's... one of the two.

Would setting the shocks to a less stiff setting help lessen this effect?

they were set so they wouldn't bottom out on most of the bumps.
setting them softer might have bottomed out and throw you off the bike.

Yea, until you landed and the suspension bottomed out, and you have two vertebra trying to occupy the same space. Grin

Call me a sissy.....but the idea of being airborne on the Savage is a bit intimidating to me.  I got no problem bouncing around on my other bike - but the footpegs are under me and I feel like I have some involvement in the landing.....not just going along for the ride and hard landing!

Here is my other "ride".

Yes....Trials.  This bike is so much different than the LS650.  Everytime I turn the LS650 around in the garage I am amazed how much room it takes to turn it around compared to this bike.  The angle of the forks is almost straight up and down when compared to the Suzuki and the turning radius is very tight.  The trials bike is a Sherco, it is 320 cc and a 4 stroke, and it weights 165 pounds.  When I need to turn it around in the garage I lean over, put my hand on the rear wheel with my finger through the spokes and pick the back end up, and swing it around.....and that doesn't work on the Suzuki which weighs twice as much.

I didn't mean to hijack the thread.....but I am really comfortable with my wheels of the ground on the trials bike - but certainly not on the Suzuki.
