Hi fellow forum users! I've just registered with the site due to a strange problem with my bike.
First off, I ride a 1995 Savage with about 15,600 miles on it. Oil, air filter and spark plug changed just before 15,000.
The last couple times I've ridden my Savage, I've noticed that when I pull in the clutch to shift, I get some kind of rattling noise. I've also noticed that the noise/rattle slows with wheel speed, rather than engine speed. (As you can imagine, I'm a little worried about what might happen if I continue to ride it past the one trip I've made with the noise, so I haven't extensively tested to know when the noise happens exactly.)
It also may be more prevalent after warming up.
What kind of issue could this be? I know there is a common issue with the cam chain tensioner, but that continues when the bike is idling, and I *believe* my noise does not.
If you guys need more details, I can do a better test the next time I need to make a very short trip.
Thanks in advance!
