Tank bib
05/15/12 at 17:14:36

Well, I finally got around to working on the tank bib that arteacher so generously gave me for the price of shipping, when they cut his wrong and let him keep the original.

Didn't take much work, and it was actually easier than I expected.  I used an x-acto knife, scissors, even tried my electric (ham/turkey slicing) knife, but the thing that worked best was my rotary cutter that I normally use for cutting fabric for quilting.

I had to widen the hole and cut the slot for the tank fill cap, and also had to cut about an inch from the bottom.

The heart that I added was to cover a hole, left from I assume whatever emblem he had ordered.  I found it on an old purse.  I like it, but I think a conch that matches my seat might look better, but I don't have one.  This will work for now.

Nice thing is my phone slips right down in the pocket.

Thanks again to arteacher!!   Smiley

Whatcha think?

I think it's awesome! Do you know the manufacturer? The only one I can find is this one from Chilhowee: http://www.chilhowee.net/suzuki-tankbra/TB047.html.

Greg, I'm pretty sure that's it, but arteacher will have to verify.

(after looking at those pics again, I think I'll add some studs, which I already have (had to order 50 to get 1 for my Mustang seat!))

bh, looks good. I especially like the choke and petcock moved to the right side for us right-handers. And the speedo is just too much.  Smiley

I like. I wanted one but couldn't find one and didn't want to risk getting one that didn't fit. I think studs up and down the sides would look nice.

Yes it is the Chihowee. When the one I sent Babyhog came to me and didn't fit I sent them a pattern I made and they sent me a new one made to my pattern, which did fit.
You did a great job Babyhog.
BTW there is another maker who would not ship to Canada. Can't remember who now.
Edit: It was Timberwolf Leather, but they don't list one on there site anymore.

I have one made by suzuki that fits great but I can't seem to find any more of them. I think I found mine on ebay 4 or 5 years ago.

Mine's an older one with no pocket.  That pocket sure looks handy.

I like the pocket idea. I could live without the tassle. I like studded.
