Cleaning fuel system
05/02/12 at 18:36:44

My Savage sat for nearly a year without being started before I purchased it. It was hesitating and running poorly at first. I have put 2 tanks of gas through it and it is getting better. I will put some Seafoam in it whenever I can remember to buy some! How many tanks do I need to dump the cleaner in before I have the carb torn apart and cleaned?

My old pickup had a seriously nasty filter, wouyldnt pull away from a stop w/o winding it up. died a lot, I changed the filter, it ran better, but was weak, Ive used Seafoam in about 6 tanks, I think its pretty well back to healthy.,.If you can run it, & depend on it to run good enough to be safe & fun, run it,.,keep dosin it. If it stops improving & isnt where ya want it, open it up & clean it out,

& It aint cheap,, neether,, But it only takes a dash to do our tank.,The backhoe, OTOH,, takes the whole thing,( I did it 3 times)  but its made a huge difference, It used to sound like something was gonna come thru the side of the block, now, it sounds like a healthy diesel.

I will be using it in the bike. I used it in my Jeep. I did the fuel tank and dump down the throttle body. Smoked like a forest fire. Jeep ran better than ever!
