Finally had a chance to paint! In the process of finding some turn signals, tail lights, raising the bars, doing somethign about the seat, and doing some carb work. I picked up a cool little trailer hitch carrier for my Westfordia (Econoline/Westfalia Mutant Van) so I can bring her out with me while I travel for the summer. I have two weeks to get this thing finished up and on the road! I think I'm adding some stencil-effect type graphics to the gas tank too.

Can't even see where the massive dent was!  Cool

more updates soon!

thanks, it's been a real fun project!

just can't decide if i want to leave it flat black or if i want to spray a stencil of a big mean looking skull on the side of the tank Smiley

What are you going to do with the saddle bags? Do you still have them? Your pictures didnt upload for some reason.

I still have the saddlebags, would be willing to part with them - make me an offer! I'd say they are in medium condition, hit me with your email if you'd like to see pictures.

Added some risers using the socket method, but it's not feeling super solid so I went ahead and ordered some 4" S40 risers. Also playing around with using this conduit on my cables..adds a pretty cool feel but need to get creative with tucking and positioning them to pull it off. I think blacking out the rest of the forks, etc will make this look cooler.

Skeebo...
Hey!... chrome does too, get me home!... Huh...

PSSSS... Hey, Longtucky... do you wave when you ride the Savage,.. but snub me, when you ride the Beemer?...
Do the secret Beemer society allow that?...
They're pretty strict, I think...Huh...

There's no time to wave when I'm on the GS.. mainly because I'm usually going over 100mph, it's almost impossible not to on that thing. Although technically it handles so well I could probably wave at you with both hands if I really wanted.  Grin

Looks like some of my photos above of the risers are jacked, but I ended up buying a pair off ebay that ended up being even worse! I'm done ordering stuff online for this bike, it never works out well haha!

Anyway, added the BCB seat and turn signals, blacked out some of the engine components and other small pieces. Holding off on painting the engine because I've actually decided when fall rolls around to replace the entire thing. It's getting up on 30k and starting to have issues with the cam chain and valves and I'm not sure I want to mess around with those much. For now  I'm loading this thing up on my trailer hitch hauler on my frankenstein camper van tomorrow and heading out to the west coast for the rest of the summer. Can't wait to ride it up and down the 101!

Wouldn't call her done yet, but she's getting there and ready to blast around in some coastal towns and highways to grab supplies to head back to camp. I've actually added a few things since this photo but haven't uploaded them yet.
