Clutch push rod won't move
04/11/12 at 06:58:37
I took the crankcase covers off to powdercoat them. Before reassembly I tried to push in the little pin (clutch push rod) that activates the clutch, but it wouldn't budge. So, I figured that once the cover was on the cover's clutch lever would have a better chance of doing it rather than my soft little finger. But, noooo. The lever hits the rod and nothing happens.
Any idea of what might be wrong?

How long did you have it dry?
Might be just stuck.
And yeah, it'll take a lot of force to push it in by hand.
imagine the leverage you get from the clutch lever on the outside of the case vs. inside. and the outside you still need some help.

If I have the cable off the lever on the case, I have to put a crescent wrench on the arm to move it up, which is how I disconnect the clutch cable, so I dont have to mess with all those adjustments.

The pin slips in and out of its hole quite easily.

Yup! A wrench had enough leverage to make it moves. Feels okay now. Thanks!
