This is my helmet which just kept me alive through a serious wreck so I highly reccomend it.  It's only $70, its a modular flip up, has good ventilation.  Bang for the buck it's hard to beat imho.

How is it with wind noise?

I've been using a Scorpion EXO full-face for years and I like it a lot.  I would echo those who said not to buy without trying it on though.  I went down to MotoLiberty and tried several on and once I'd decided, I gave them my best-case online cost (including S/H) to give them an opportunity to try to match it.  In fact, I would have bought from them if they came close but they refused to even try so I wound up buying online.

My last helmet was like the oldschool red one in above photo.

The new helmet I bought yesterday - Z1R ACE TRANSIT ROYAL AIR HELMET
…except with overhead visor removed and has the dark smoke face shield:

I tried on several full style and modular helmets and just couldn't find one that I liked, or felt very comfortable.

how does the Z1R ACE TRANSIT fit ? does it sit high ?

Since this is my first helmet in 20 years, and now seem to have about 3x the DOT padding that my old helmet had, all helmets seem to feel like they ride too high. I'd say it's not nearly as bad as my friends half helmet cap where your ears stick out under the helmet. And I was told the padding will start to compress some after awhile.

No complaints, noticably quieter than my old HJC.

I've read a lot of good stuff on the Bilt brand (CycleGear's in-house brand).  They seem to make decent quality merchandise at comparatively low prices.  I got some of their cold-weather glove and boot liners and they seem to work pretty well.  I've only used them a few times though, so I can't say much about how well they last.

I bought the Noland N-90. I like it. Took it out tonight without the visor since I ride behind a windshield. This is how I will use it since I ride in Florida. 2 day free shipping. Revzilla rocks.
