Snow in Rome

Freak snowstorm in Rome

Frozen fountain

Biking ? Wait and thaw it over ?

Whitened Coliseum

Ponte Milvio is one of Rome's oldest bridges, dating back to 200BC (more or less...)
This "gate" was added in the Renaissance by a Pope.

Capitoline Hill, where the Mayor works

Another view of the Coliseum

Pope has chilly days himself

Buses had a really hard time...

The puny FIAT 500, the vintage 500cc air-cooled twin, with its measly 12bhp was perhaps the only car to safely trundle across snow-smothered Rome.

Cool No chilly smiley, eh?  Cheesy

Saw some of this on the news ... truely an incredible winter this year across parts of Europe and Asia (the snow they're getting in northern Japan reminds me of the record-breaking winter of 2000/01 here in St. John's!) ... apparently there a huge ridge of high pressure sitting over the North Pole which is responsible ...

BTW I'll bet the 'ol "Global Warming" advocates are just loving this! Wink LOL!!

BTW-2 ... LOVE those old Fiat 500s ... the modern ones are cool too!

The snow is okay, but that ice is nasty.  Our winter has been mild so far this year in North TX too, even if it was 23 degrees when I got up this morning.  This is just a cool weekend.  I think this week is supposed to be milder.

Actually, with global warming higher humidity due to warmer overall temperatures will lead to increased precipitation, including snow, in some places and less in others. Look at the severity of tropical storms over the last decade and the advancement of the Sahara dessert to the south at 48 Kilometers per year as evidence. If that dosnt prove it for you just take a look at the satelite imagery of the polar ice caps over the last 75 years, scary stuff.

I'm sorry but nobody heard anything this side of the musicsheet  Smiley

What about the trumpets ? Music playing in the air ? Jazz from the clouds ?

Undecided

"Ride of the Valkyries" in Apocalypse Now style ?

Frankly, we Europeans are much too "Old World" to believe such razzmatazz.

There have been so many Doomsday Prophets that we have them on sale now, buy two, get third Doomsday half price  Wink
