Muffler replacement

There's a cricket living in my exhaust.  According to the forums it's usually best to just replace it.  Does anyone recommend any after market exhausts and places to get one for a  good price?

HARLEY DYNA, seems to be the pick of the litter. Can usually be had for about $30. Check local Harley shops and custom shops to see if someone will sell you a "Factory take off" before you pay shipping and such on Ebay.

Here's the Official Savage.com Harley Muffler guide...

Dyna, cheap, available, cuts a ton of weight off the bike & looks tons better. AAAAAAnd it sounds better, too.
Or, ya could spend a fortune & get a Supertrapp. Not as pretty but a better performance booster.

I have the same problem and just bought a pair of new (100 miles) Dyna mufflers off ebay.  Going to use one myself but not going to use both. If you don't have any luck finding one locally I'd sell one at a reasonable price -- pm me if interested.

I'm also looking to switch the pipe to the exhaust out, it looks like crap. I don't know how to restore the chrome look, any suggestions?

This stuff works like magic:

You don't even need the random orbit sander except for really, really, really tough places...

well amazingly easy to start with... a wad of aluminum foil and a little water will take the tops off the rusty spots.  once rough rusty chrome will be smooth w/out scratches.  I'd go that route 1st then the blue job for any blueing you have.

I bought some of this stuff a couple of years ago, that little container only had about a table spoon full of the powder in it.

It does work..i spent hours getting almost what the vid shows in 30 seconds.....maybe Triumph chrome is different or i got a bad blue job?

Yeah you do get a tiny bit, but mine seemed to stretch further than expected.. in my opinion the vid doesn't do justice for the stuff because I was able to hand polish a helluva lot more with my hands than I thought.. took me about 30 minutes for the underside of the head pipe...

I replaced my muffler with a Harley Dyna muffler. Went to the closest Harley dealer and got the muffler for free. Throw outs in their opinion.

About the down pipe, i decided to get mine ceramic coated semigloss. Now i dont have to worry about blueing or rust.
