If you don't like it, cut it off with an exacto knife.

You leave your key in your bike when you park it? Really? Huh That's just asking for it.

We're talking about a budget bike designed more than 20 years ago. We're lucky it has digital ignition and a disk brake. So a chip embedded in the key? Mmmmmmmmm, I doubt it.

I didn't ask about a 20 yr old bike. I asked if there were any bikes out there who have a chip in the key. I have read about some models of higher end bikes with a key fob that activates to ignition, I think. It wouldn't be good for a Noob to go remodeling a hundred dollar key.

I do not know of any, but it would not surprise me on the newer bikes.  It would require a computer controlled ignition, however.  That is how they work...  On the orriginal note, however.  Get a key here... http://www.keysnuts.com/

Tell ya what, if I ever run across a noob here on the Savage board asking about modifying the key for high end late model bike, I'll pass along your warning, as well as suggesting he/she is asking on the wrong board.  Grin
