whirling noises

I don't know if this is normal or not, but when I let off the throdle I get this swishing sound that seems to be coming from the motor. I've been wearing a helment and noticed it a little bit, but I rode it to the store without my helment today, and it just seemed too loud. Any thoughts? It only has 1600 mile on it.

It's the drive belt... perfectly normal...
Look in the Tech section for ways to quiet it,.. or, just learn to like it...
Wink...

It will increase the noise in humid, wet, or cold weather...

If you notice a change, not weather related,... check the tightness of the front pulley nut...
Mine started making noise when it came very slightly loose... no amount of tightening would fix it for more than a couple of days... until I replaced the splined washer under the nut,.. $3.00 fix,... then all is well again...
(I thought the noise was cam chain)( Nope!)...
Wink...
