will a S40 FACTORY SEAT fit a 2000 LS650 or are the brackets differant?

If they both came from the factory with a 1 piece seat, Id expect it to work. You could call the dealership & see if the year models use a different part number..

I think there may be a bracket in the way, but try looking up the specs on bikebandit.com (oem parts, model, year(s), street, fender...) and compare/contrast. I'd normally do the work for you but I've gotta get to work. I'll check in later to see how you made out!

My ride is a 2005 LS650, customized with ISO grips, cone air filter, stage 1 jets, Jardine exhaust, solo seat, AM turn sigs, and a catseye tail light. Next year, custom paint job (hopefully)!

You will have a bracket in the way. Checked bikebandit and the 2000 does indeed use a 2-piece seat stock. I don't think the one piece that comes on the S40 will fit without some modifications to the rear fender/bracket.
