Stoplight on the side, is it less safe?

Ok I'm sure those who have done this will say, oh yeah, it's safe.

But, I'm just thinking out loud here, if a stoplight on your bike is say, on the left side, then if you are in the right lane behind the bike, and the stoplight is in your blind spot, you won't be able to tell if the bike is slowing down. I would think this could pose some additional danger to the biker.

What are your thoughts on this? Agree or disagree?

On the sidecar rig, I have stop lights in both GIVI top trunks and the OE light.  LEDS around the license plate light on the bagger. Figure I can't have too much.  Max

Reason I asked this is two fold, first, I've considered it myself because I like the look.

Second, I was watching a cafe racer bike the other day. I was behind it to the right. I could have merged left, but I saw no tail light. Then I discovered it was on the left side and I couldn't see it at all. But Vers, you may be right. If I were further back, then I would see it.

Who knows, maybe one on both sides. Wink

Whenever I put a side mount light on,I always put one on both sides. And I also angle them upwards a little too so the brightest part will catch the driver's eye before they're right on me.

As you can see I have mine on the right side only. It isn't perfectly ideal but it is bright and I am yet to have any issues. *Knock on wood*

I was gonna say the same thing... mine is on the right hand side, halogen lamp, very bright. And if you're on my left so close that you can't see the it... man... I'd yell and throw a rock at you!!

Denim, listen, where the hell did you get a white wall rear tire in stock dimension? I had to paint mine.

IIRC it was an old stock Maxxis tire that is no longer produced  Sad There are no stock WW tires that will fit our bikes that I've ever found.

I know, looked everywhere, front one already hard to find as it is. Ranger paint works well but not easy to stay within the lines, makes a f..ed up circle. Smiley

It doesnt cost a thing to pump the brakes some to make the light flash a few times,, If someone is behind you,, Kinda gets their attention,,

Thanx guys.The tire is a Maxxis classic.No longer made.I think Avon makes a 15" WW.It's not stock size,it's a 150/90-15.Little wider,ALOT taller.
