hi all
i just joined the forum after i recently got a 2006 S40.. i have been driving it for more than a month but a week or so ago when i would go to crank it, it would try and then stop making a clicking sound.. checked battery seemed bad.. the voltage would drop from 12 to 5 when i would crank.
So i got a new AGM type battery, installed it and cranked it.. Started great about three times and then blew fuse.. changed it , turned the key ON the lights lit up, hit the start and the fuse blew again..
not sure what happened..
Checked the resistance on the fuse to ground and found the side that has positive from battery was good.. but the other seemed to be shorted to ground..
If i turn the key to OFF, the resistance shows good but i turn the key to ON and it shows shorted..
I am confused what happened.. the only thing i did was changed battery and it started 3 times and then thats it..
I will appreciate any info that can help me.. i miss riding my bike
