I remeber (a few moons ago) reading on this forum a fix for the speed rattle.  I can make mine disappear when I rest my left hand on the speedo glass and I do not know if the glass is loose or if the whole assembly can be tighten.

I figure during the winter if I have to pull the tank to attack the oil plug issue I will address the speedo rattle if it can be fixed.
