Intruder speedo on a savage?

Any one know if the speedo drive on a savage/s40 is the same as an 800 intruder? Would be nice to have the speedo in eye sight and to have a tripmeter! Another benefit getting a bigger tank like some are using on cafe bikes.

Yes, a tripmeter would be nice.
The tanks on the RYCA bikes are smaller than stock.

If you think there's good in everyone, you haven't met everyone.

Congress might agree on something good for the country also......
If the speedo drive matches the cable and its a 19 inch tire it should work, only thing needed is a bracket to mount it and the wiring hook up for the lights..anyone have a savage and intruder should be easy to see if it will work.

I guess the speedo drive is not on the front wheel like most other bikes, so that changes things. i bought my saveage off ebay and its 6 states away...i would have seen that if it was in my shop.

The speedo being so far down from sight seems real dangerous to me. I have to take my eyes completely off the road to look at it. I did find a $16 mount for my GPS on tiger direct .com so I am going to order that and mount it on my handle bars. It will give me mph, direction, time and that nifty map.
I also have the parts to hook up a 12 volt cig lighter/plug.
Your idea might be alot easier though.

Gear up like you are going to slide across the pavement. Ride like everyone else is trying to kill you
