Reply #2 - 08/02/11 at 10:54:13 I used the DEI titanium LR 15FT i wetted mine even though it said not required - was one of the easiest things i have ever done - yep no more burns, pants, boots, covers, etc...p.s. looks cool too - no more ugly discolored header.

C'est La-Vie.....

Wow that titanium wrap looks much better than the black fiberglass stuff I bought. Probably not as cheap though. I'll look into it.
Hmm. 2" wide x 15' roll, $20.67 - that's pretty cheap. I think I paid 30 for 25 feet, including the ties.

I like the fact that you don't need to spray it.

Somebody needs to start making stainless exhaust headers for this bike.
-- The metal does all kind of colorful things when it cools down after getting red hot.
-- The stock header weighs WWAAYY too much (triple-walled-tubing)
-- Thin walled stainless has an interesting "ping" to it as each exhaust pulse passes through
-- Different diameters would allow one more variable for "tuners" to vary things for cams, carbs, operating range (RPM), etc.
-- No need for wrapping
-- Probably would be cheaper than replacing a stock header
-- Lower maintenance (no concern about bluing, etc.)
