I'm in Austin, TX, and it's hard to find a cheap runner . There are deals every once and a while but they go quick. No ls650s/savages/s40s anywhere near a decent price here or in San Antonio right now, or for the last month. I know I should just suck it up just spend a little more and get a better bike, but I've only got what I got right now and I'll be spending it all on a bike.
Anyway, if I get lucky and find an LS650 for a steal I'll be around more often. The ls650 is the only cruiser on my list. I normally don't like cruisers but I just love the simple upright single cylinder on this bike. Reminds me of an old british bike.

There is an '02 listed on the Corpus Christi CL for $2500 OBO, with only 2600 miles. It was listed on 7-3-11, so don't know if it still available but might be worth checking out. Looks really nice in their picture.
Sometimes it's better to spend a little more upfront to start with something better. If I was still sticking with another Savage, I'd offer him $2000 cash & see what happens!

Gear up like you are going to slide across the pavement. Ride like everyone else is trying to kill you
