TKAT/fork protectors

The many posts here about fork braces have convinced me that one of those is in my future, and I'm inclined to go with TKAT (self-employed artisan/great price). In an area neither terribly dusty nor buggy, need I be especially concerned about unprotected forks?

Many thouands of miles have been ridden on bikes with no fork protectors,, Just look at them when the ride is over & clean the area that dives into the seal, never allow bug guts to dry on them & youll ride a long time before you need seals. be gentle in your cleaning. As long as ya clean them before those dried guts dive thu the seal, youll be okay..
