Its really quite simple,.....you need a 3/8 steel rod w/ 6mm RH male thread on one end, and tapped 6mm female RH thread on the other.
This won't be a shift rod,....it will be a 4" extension to the existing shift rod.

Reading that 2x was like turning on a light switch! I was thinking extension as well, but the best I could find was a 4" threaded rod but I needed a coupling nut to match (again, no luck).

The rod is drilled and tapped 6 mm RH thread both ends. Then screw a 1 1/4" stud (made from a 6mm bolt) and a jam nut.
