Industrial catwalk grating would be perfect (and makes killer BBQ grates if you get non-galvanized). I've got a piece down at the smithy to stand on while working the forge/anvil. The narrow gauge is pretty easy to cut with an angle grinder.

Used 4"x4" x1" ell brackets fastened to grate with bolt and nut and to both sides of my sissy bar with hose clamps. I carry about 5 lbs of tools on it with bungees.

Reply #17 - 06/19/11 at 20:32:07 I went to a bone yard and found a rack off a old yamaha enduro. I removed the bungee tabs and cut the legs off. Machined mounting bosses and welded new legs on and had a buddy powder coat it. t is my daughters bike.

Whats the drop down , tie down for? Not one on the other side,,
I am very good with cord, tying things down is easy for me, but even I enjoy having one of these little guys hanging on my bike with the parachute cord I carry.
