Hey,
Did you use 1" or 2" wide exhaust wrap?

You'll need at least 2"x15'

Smokestack, the bike looks cool enough for sure,... but what is it like to RIDE???  How does it feel zipping around in the twisties, or posing down the boulevard, or commuting, etc.?  Have you tried it out on a trip of an hour or two?

Well, outside of the Air Filter, the engine and exhaust are pretty much bone stock.  There is, of course, the mandatory Verslavy, which is awesome (To All: buy one from Verslagen1 if you haven't already.  The stop pin alone is worth the price of admission).  Not much in the way of performance enhancements, but I dig the ride.  The Friscos feel right to me; perfect height, perfect width, confortable as all get out.  The seat ain't too shabby either, and was comfortable on my inaugural ride home from my friends shop, when I took the long way home.  Trip ran about an hour through some pretty senic farm country. No real twisty bits to speak of, but I did open her up and try getting a feel for her cornering and braking abilities on those long lonely roads.  Had a blast!

Over the past couple days, I've noticed that she gets a lot of looks from other riders, and not one has been a sneer so far.  That makes a guy smile a bit.

The 2" is probably your best value bet, but I'm a beggar, not a chooser, so I used 1" that I got from another friend who was clearing out a bunch of stuff.  50 foot roll for $5.  It took some patience, but I think it turned out pretty well.  I used up a lot of it though; I probably have maybe15-20 feet left if I'm lucky....  If I had to buy from a store, I'd go with 2".

Dug up the air filter box from my pile of cast-offs.  The Filter is a K&N RC-1250.

I have no idea if they buy them wholesale or have them made (or make them themselves, for that matter) but the guy I traded my other seat to said he bought the BCB seat, direct from them, for $200.  Pricey, sure, but comfortable and has a good back curve to hold ya in place.  Reminds me of the seats made by Redtail Leather in that respect.

Also, be warned that unless you buy the full seat kit from BCB, you'll have to do like I did and fab up some seat mounts.  Mine involved much Zip-Cutting, Disc-Grinding, and Welding.....

Your Bike looks awesome, would there be any way you could show a picture of how everything is set up inside the "oil tank"?
Thanks!

Wow.... Y'all dug this up from the graveyard, huh?  Wink

Thanks for the props, cats! The "setup" inside the tank is actually however I can jam the stuff in 'til it fits. I'm gonna come up with something a little more organized when I redo the harness, but for now it works. The only thing I did was mount the reg/rec to the outside under the seat for airflow.

The bike has also seen a few changes since then, but the fake oil tank is the same.

Stick a piece of 1/4" plywood under the battery so it won't rub a whole in the case. I think you even made the factory muffler look good with your mods. Nice.     Boofer
