Well, after driving it for 5 mos. I finally got up the nerve to take it on the slab and see how fast it would go. 87 mph. That's with a windshield and wide bags. And a wide me. Grin

Mine pegs about 90 at WOT on the slab. Small bags, no shield. Id be happier if she ran a clean 100 but it does ok as is.
Id just like a lil more oommppff when i roll on the throttle to pass when im running 70.

Wow!  Way more speed than I care to do with mine! lol

I assume those speeds are attained on newer models with the additional gear??  Or is it possible to get there on the earlier models as well?

That's the same speed I do.... uphill.   Cool

The final ratio is nearly the same for the new and old bikes.
Old bikes have a slightly higher ratio.

I probably won't do that very often. Up here that's the equivalent of 140 kph, which is 40 over the limit. 30 over and you get charged with dangerous driving and they take your license away, and the fine is huge! Tongue

"The final ratio is nearly the same for the new and old bikes.

That might explain why at 35-40mph (in town local streets) I am always indecisive on which gear to be in.  Sometimes 3rd seems to be high rev and 4th seems to "doggy".  Undecided
