Well.. I finally figured out how long a belt lasts on a hard ridden, gone through a bunch of dirt,  ride all the time, Savage.
78,500 miles.   Sad  

Break was clean.  Not caused by a rock or anything like that.
Just replaced the rear tire too.  (Tensioners were not moved during that event, belt tension was checked when done using 90 degree twist method)

I'll post pics if I remember.

So, now you know how long they last.  

And now I could use one!!  Wink

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure yours isn't too tight or too loose.

a snapped chain couldve been snapped back together in 5 minutes with a clip link. Now the poor guy's gotta wait. I gotta belt with a small tear in the side of it. I assume from a rock. I went chain. Belt had about 14k mi on it before i ditched it. $15 and shipping says its yours.

I'm tempted if I can't find anything else.  You got a picture of the damage?

Oh.. not so poor, I have a backup Savage.  But it is aggravating!!!
