New Home.
05/12/11 at 11:28:31

Well it official. I just signed all the papers at the closing for a mobile home. Never bought a house before but it was pretty painless. My daughter is very happy about it because I just gave it to her. Now my daughter and 3 grandchildren will have a place to call home. It needs a little work before she can move in but mostly just a good cleaning and paint for the bedrooms. All the flooring and carpets are new and it has a two year old metal roof. 3 bedrooms, two baths and a huge shed in a park for $12,000. I thought that was a pretty good deal. I'll have to look for one for myself now. But the kids came first. I know she appreciates it. And her mother (my ex-wife) even said thanks to me. Never heard that before.

Sounds like a good move, Al.. Having your own home is a comfort, doesnt matter that its not a palace,, its a real comfort. I bought a trailer 28 years ago & havent rented a place since. & No, Ive never had anything spectcular,, the best we ever landed wa a 3 bed, 2 bath, brick, w/ fireplace & 2 car garage. I bought it when I was unemployed,,my wife didnt even get to look at it, she didnt even know I was buying a house,, she dang near left me over that one,,, But ,, a few year later, when she was over it all,, she was happy,, I HAD to step up & take it, t was a Non-qualifying, assumable loan,, & thats the Only way we were gonna have that nice of a place. I was the 2nd of about 50 who answered the ad. The first guy didnt get the $$$ to the guy advertising it, I did.

Thanks guys. I got a really good deal on the place. The guy that owned it had to move in with his elderly dad to take care of him. The house was for sale for a year at 25,900. After paying lot rent, taxes, insurance and all that stuff for a year, he dropped the price to 15,900. I offered him 12,000 and he jumped on it. After we signed all the paperwork he told me that he would have taken alot less. The only reason I was able to do this for here was because my mom passed away over the winter and left me a little money. I put some away for me to retire someday, and I know my mom would have wanted me to help out my daughter. So that what I did.

Congrats! Now you need to purchase a couple more things! Smoke alarms! Make sure you do! Most important addition to a new home that you can buy.
