Problem with starting the bike
05/06/11 at 02:03:39

I assume that the starter relay/solenoid is broken because after jumping with screwdriver the bike refused to start. With weak battery I tried jump start with car battery connected to bike battery and only outcome was the bike kept starting it self after I unconnected the jump cables. (The  starter itself didn't make any sound only revs going up and down and no throttle response) Any help??

Decomp. solenoid works fine and I have cleaned the carb.

Baretta, You need a good, hot battery first. Then you can rule out or in other things. Sometimes a starter or solenoid can be tapped with a screwdriver handle to get them working correctly. Is this just a thing that started suddenly on a good running bike, first  time crank this year, or a bike that is new to you? It took me three tries yesterday after awhile in the shed, because I forgot to turn on prime before cranking.
