I agree with not releasing the photos.

They have to be gruesome beyond belief - a head shot with the kind of weapon special ops forces use will totally explode the skull. The brain liquifies from internal thermodynamic pressures that would rupture a boiler, and those internal pressures fracture the skull into many pieces that explode like a broken eggshell. It all happens in about 1/2000th of a second, given the muzzle velocity of these weapons and the close range of the shot.

I've seen this kind of wound - it isn't just an entrance hole and a slightly larger exit wound. Probably everything above the nose was totally obliterated.

Why give the bad guys anything to incite their "troops" with?

The story has changed so much morning to evening let alone day to day you dont know what to beleive. He!! he may well be confined in gitmo for interrogation right now for all we know.
As for the photos, IF what they said is true, they used M4 assault rifles, .223 cal. Standard load is full metal jacket high velocity.
Small entrance wound, slightly larger exit wound, no exploded head. Just a handfull of brains hanging out the back of the head. Especialy up close and personal. Makes for a nice clean picture.

When they first came out with the .223 they claimed you hit a man in the foot and it would break every bone in his leg. Reality was you shot a man in the foot he would run up and kick you in the nads with it. One of the reasons their taught the double tap. One to the chest and one to the head because one or two to the chest may not put him down.
He!! it wont even put a coyote down with one through the chest usualy. Not right away.
They were designed primarily to wound, not kill. One wounded man removes two healthy men from the fight to move him. That and you can carry about double the load of ammo from what you could for the old M14 or M1

I really hope hes dead but untill i see a picture im not holding my breath. Whole story stinks worse every time they retell it.
