Serow, I used the white JB Weld. It sets up pretty fast, so don't panic or you'll have a bump to clean around. And you'd better be really careful in the shower if it came from the same place.  Grin Grin

don't know if you're already done with your repair ....

this is a trick my aunt uses for fixing holes in drywall when her crummy tenants stick a  brook handle or knife or something thru the wall - gives you  a "back" to putty onto:

get a little piece of cardboard or something that's a little wider than the hole,

make 2 small holes in it, thread a string/wire/fishing line thru small holes,

fold the cardboard to get it inside the hole, then unfold so it won't fit back out,

little goop around the edges on the BACK of the hole, pull it tight with the string,

let it dry a little, then goop over from your side, cut off the string flush, smooth up and bob's yer uncle!

obviously you'r not using spackle, but the principle might still apply!

WILL Serowbot fix the sink??
WHICH method will he use to fix it??
WILL the repair stand up to vigorous cleanings and wayward knuckles??
WILL Serowbot post the repair procedure and results in the tech section?

Uhg, what a cliffhanger.. I'm just DYING to know!!  Grin

Lesser men read about alternative sink repair on the internet, but you're LIVING it man, livin' the dream.  Grin

Well you could always go on the cutting edge and try the JB weld waterproof epoxy.. good God man, you may not even have to drain the sink!  I dunno.. might be too extreme..   You game?  Huh
