Mirror issue- Suggestions?
04/20/11 at 19:09:11
Hi- when I bought my '98 the RH mirror had been knocked off and was replaced by a cheap clamp-on aftermarket thing that's useless. The cast aluminum master cylinder handlebar clamp the OEM mirror threads into is still holding the master cylinder on, but the upright threaded barrel was broken out and off of it.
I haven't ruled out trying to weld a lump of aluminum onto the existing clamp and drilling/threading it, but want to try replacing it first. Any idea if this piece is available by itself?
If I'm successful on either count, then I'll hunt for an OEM mirror.
If not, then anybody know of a well built aftermarket set they use?
I'm listening....

Well, dang....
Just got in from work late tonite and this was great to find- Thanks! Now why didn't I think of this? I had always searched for 'master cylinder' and found several, but figured the clamp typically wasn't available by itself.
Ordering up right away!
