Oh happy days! Ryca e-mailed today and my production slot has come up!!!

I put a new brake line on the bike after the clip ons and lowering. I'll post some pics this weekend. It's 30.5" fitting center to center, 45º fitting on top, 0º fitting at the caliper, with a 90º offset for the two fittings. I got it from coastguard1975 on ebay and it arrived in just over a week. From Canada. Cost was $32 delivered. It's a coated stainless steel line and the only "complaint" is it's a bit on the stiff side. I haven't dealt in braided steel before so this may be normal.

Here's a couple of pics of the new front brake line.

I cut off the covers on the original brake line to fill the clamp under the lower triple tree. It was glued on and a bit of a booger to get off, but some patience and a sharp Xacto did the trick. Then it got about 1/4" trimmed of the cover so it would fit neatly around the new brake line. Then a little crimping on the clamp and, hey presto, it's in place. The brake line is too stiff to fit in the clamp that goes on the left fork slider so it is kind of angled out a bit where it will stay away from the tire.

Will your line slide through the clamp? If not, it seems to me the section of the line between the caliper and the clamp would resist flexing, since it's being pushed in a fairly straight line.

By the way, HEL supplies the rubber thingies with their stainless steel brake lines. They fit stock brake hose clamps/locators but still let the new lines slide.

I've got it aligned so the natural bend is away from the wheel and hoping & crossing fingers it will keep bending that way under fork compression. So far, in the comfort of the garage, it moves away from the wheel.
