Yes Sir a full artical about the Savage in this issue of "Motor Cyclist"
It's is all about that RYCA" but it's a full 2 pages worth of info.
I guess this issue is January.Well worth your trip to the store to pick it up.They are saying lots of good things about the Savage, they also said that it will be harder to pick up a used one,now that the Ryca guy is doing his thing.

My issue arrived in the mail yesterday & that's the first thing I read. Nice pics & a good review. If I had the means for a second bike I'd get one in a heartbeat. Interesting that they used Progressive 412 12.5" shocks. That's what I put on my S40 soon after I got it.

Brand new to the forum. Will introduce myself later.
That is exactly why I brought a '96 home Thursday. Funny thing happened, though.  After a longer test ride and studying the bike a bit more, I came to the conclusion this motorcycle is just too nice to start reworking it.....just ride it and like it!

In stock configuration the Savage/S40 is a handsome bike of the right size. I can't say I like most of the bobber variations I've seen.

For my lower back the foot-forward cruiser riding position is no good. My spine makes a poor shock absorber. I've got my deposit down on a Ryca kit. For looks it beats any Savage/S40 I've seen.

I've wanted a cafe racer style bike since the late '60s. So, here goes.

Not trying to steal anyone's thunder here, but it seems strange to me that after I wrote and got that article published about the Savage in the American Motorcyclist magazine in January 09 that everyone has started publishing articles about it.

Just thought it was interesting is all.

Good for you Buck,I am a lover of the cafe racer style, people ask me if it's comfortable ,Of course it is, with cruisers and choppers all your weight is on your butt, the cafe style Origionated from the 1950s AJS
7R,boy racer,it was one of the best 350cc bikes of that era, during it's hayday people took to calling it a Cafe racer, because most of the guys that rode it were amazed at how comfortable it was, somewhere nice to sit during your coffee break. But when you think about it your weight is distributed all over your body, your legs support you now that they are under you ,instead of sticking out front, your arms can split the weight on your back between arms and butt, after all guys these early racers where designed for the Isle of Man TT races, in those days it was 6 or 7 laps each lap was 37 1/2 miles. You never saw a rider quit because he was uncomfortable.
Just another reason they are becoming popular again. And the main reason I got my self that ninja, 10 times better ride than the savage.
