The road over Mosquito Pass Colorado on the Leadville side of the pass.

Like those pics & all, but can you imagine trying to sell the wife & kids on a camping trip to  Mosquito Pass,  on the Leadville side of the pass.

It just doesnt sound so inviting,,

Wouldnt it just seem reasonable to think the road less traveled would be the road less crashed upon?

Not necessarily so.. Look at the crashes Phelonius has survived.

I thihnk the bridge in question was built in Alaska. Was quite a stinkl over it a coupla years ago. Not sure it actually went "nowhere", but the $$$ for the bridge & where it was & all made it clearly a boondoggle, IIRC.

Found some photos in the garage.  England, 1982:

Some road some where in Scotland.

This road goes across the island, unless the island is not an island.  The island is not an island at low tide, and you can drive across at low time.  When I got there the tide is in, I didn't went.
Lower picture was taken with my 500mm telephoto lens, a little shaky when hand held.

Another picture of my 500cc Honda.  This is the one and only Cheddar Gorge -- where Cheddar Cheese originated.

The other slides were of riding in the Arizona Desert, circa 1983.

Other than the power line road, not many people use those roads.  Like I said, we can go back the next to see if anyone covered our tracks.

Sometimes there is a good reason those roads are less traveled.

Phelonius

Sarah Palin had it build to use up federal funding, if she didn't use it she would lose it, All this was during her half term as govener,I think the bridge goes to where a airport was going to be built, but never was.
I guess she kept the change.

The Gravina Island Bridge, commonly referred to as the "Bridge to Nowhere", was a proposed bridge to replace the ferry that currently connects the town of Ketchikan, Alaska with Gravina Island, an island which contains the Ketchikan International Airport as well as 50 residents. The bridge was projected to cost $398 million. Members of the Alaskan congressional delegation, particularly Representative Don Young and Senator Ted Stevens, were the bridge's biggest advocates in Congress, and helped push for federal funding.[1] The project encountered fierce opposition outside of Alaska as a symbol of pork barrel spending and is labeled as one of the more prominent "bridges to nowhere".[2] As a result, Congress removed the federal earmark for the bridge in 2005.

THEN Palin steps in

I took five weeks.  Hit London, found a motorcycle shop, and bought the Honda 500 Silverwing.  Five weeks later I sold it back to the same motorcycle shop.  A LOT cheaper than renting.

Did not use the M roads.  Did not use the A roads if I could.  I saw a crooked house, stopped and talked to the owner.  Did not know how old the house was, since the record was burned in the Fire of London in 1666.

I was riding in Devon, saw a sign "Cream Tea".  A five acre lawn, a large tree under a table, tea, scones, clotted cream and jam.
