Not trying to take sides here, but looking at your bike from the rear it looks like your plate is almost horizontal, which would make it difficult to view from the officer's car. He would have to get out and stand next to the bike to read it clearly.

I think it looks good that way, but can see their point of view as well.

(Any chance for correcting it and having the fine waived?)

here's the view with me on my knees,... it is angled, but still clearly legible...
It has to be visible from 50ft... but the whole bike is a dot at 50ft with my camera unless I zoom in...

PS,.. I have to fix it,... and pay $135.00... he could have easily just asked me to bend it down...
I'm going to court,... Worth a shot... Huh

...a warning and a quick on-the-spot corrective bend
should have been enough BUT, appart from the whole
police state usa thingy, most departments and counties
are B-R-O-K-E and a certain monthly quota of senseless
traffic ticket for uber-minor violations is seriously required
from each officer by their superiors, whatchagonnado?! Cheesy

If you're going to fight it...
1st read the law, see exactly what it says.
2nd take a picture from the distance mentioned in the law.
If it dictates from a seated position in a car then show it.
Have another bike in the stock position to show that too.
Then zoom in for detail. due diligence my friend.

I agree that you should first find out what exactly the law says.
Then you will have a knowledge of whether it is worthy of fighting.

Yes states are looking at ways to recoup revenue loss. Their going to look at anyway they can to do just that.

Then again the officer may be predjudice against mc riders.
