i have it torn down, so there is no firing it up. getting ready to take clutch cover off to look at cam chain and tensioner. they looked fine when i had it apart 2 weeks ago but it could be a different story now.

did you take the head off yet ? when you missed second gear you might have over reved and a valve kissed your piston.
