How the hell do you avoid something like this.  I love being in a group, but it is really scary.

I notice that the innocent biker that was hit from behind had not got up after the crash.  The car driver who was on the motorcycle behind got up apparently unhurt.  I say car driver because that is the way that person rode, as if he were in a car.  Dummy!

Riding in groups makes me nervous too, unless I've ridden with them before and/ or know they can ride.

Ride at the back of the group and keep a bit of safety distance.

That is not riding in a group. That is a bunch of singles who should not ride near others.

Yes it appears he was dragging his right foot first or set it down a bit and then the left.
If you view the video more than once it appears the driver of the 3 bike that caused the accident did either get shook up or sustain some injury as he limps over to the side of the road and sits down.

I have ridden in groups as large as 10,000 and groups as small as 4. I  prefer to ride either in front or back. I also do not tailgate no matter if I am on a bike or in the cage.

I decided unless it is the annual Toy 4 Tots ride I will no longer participate in larger groups than 4 people. It is best to know who you are riding with..

Sorry to bump an old post but I'm playing catch up and this caught my eye...  Bike no.1 out front looks like a small bike and the rider not the most confident imo, see how he goes into the bend on the defence and as far to the left as possible, aware he's got 2 faster bikes behind him he looks over his right shoulder wondering what they're doing.. Bike no.2 clocks the guy in front is going slower but he's going too fast... what to do..? overtake on the bend..? We can't see what's around the corner but whatever he hits the anchors anyway.. Bike rider no.3 is riding the worst of all, even if he had his foot on the back brake in the first place and not showing off (look at his throttle control) he would have ended up in a hedge sooner or later... Bike no.4 is on L plates so I suspect a 125 and am guessing this in the UK.. Summer season is here over in Blighty and on a sunny sunday it's like every prat that has had his 2 wheels stored in the garage over the winter thinks he's racing the Manx TT.. seriously gets on my tits as I ride everyday of the year unless the snow says it's too dangerous.. My advice is keep your distance and ride with confidence, watch your speed and at least have a small clue as to how to ride a bike.. Wink Roll Eyes

quick edit... I'm guessing bike 1 and 4 are riding together and bike 2 and 3 have cut in between 'em.......

edit no.2 just to confirm weekend riders... note how bike no.3 shows no care or concern about his fellow biker that he just ran into and is laying in a ditch..... Angry

I bet bike no1 got the blame even though it wasn't his fault....
