cell phone

Well guys and gals I just joined the 21st century and got myself a cell phone. Are you still holding out Serowbot ?
Actually I have been added to a family member for $14 a month, unlimited minutes.. I just got off the phone with the phone company to cancel my land line that cost $15 a month,so I saved a buck a month, and it felt good to tell them what to do with there phone.
I have allot of driving to do this summer so I thought it wise,Actually my sister did.

You can run, but now you can't hide. Very handy if you get stranded somewhere. Very hand if you need to contact someone quickly. Very bad if you drive or ride while using it.

Bill, most company's have family plans so they can include the kids, and other family members, you just pay for the phone, I got one for $20 but they start at zero $, and kick in your share of the plan,my share was $14, the company is AT & T, I bet one of the kids has a plan that can include dear old Dad.

Hubby and I have Trac Phones. No contract we pay as we go. I don't use it except when needed for say emergency. It is great for when were each out in the cage or he is on his bike. The mins double and can be rolled over if not all used.

I have had other plans in the past and find this one more to my liking. Their great if your out and about and need help.

Oh mercy, my cell phone bill is over $200 a month.  5 lines, (me, son, step-son, step-daughter, mom-in-law) (hubby has company phone).  Step-son's is turned off right now cause he got suspended from school, so I turned off his phone.  Better than any grounding ever thought about being.  I'd be lost without mine.

Extra lines are only $10-15 extra, hence my mom-in-law on our plan.  She gives us $15 a month, like I care about it.  The main plan is the big expense, then the texting and data, etc...  All adds up.  My mother just got a pre-paid phone from Radio Shack, I think.  Sister got it for her.  About $20, and she can add minutes any time, doesn't get charged monthly, doesn't lose any unused minutes.  That would be the way to go if you don't think you'd use it much.  But it is a handy thing to have!  I started with an old bag-phone, around 20 years ago, and have had one ever since!

Welcome to the century Mick;  and Bill -- maybe your kid can add you to theirs?

Oh, we also have Scala Rider helmet bike-to-bike communications.  Hubby's is linked to his phone, so he can answer calls if necessary (he is basically "on call" 24/7 for emergencies) so if we are out riding, he won't miss a work call.
