best wishes for a speedy recovery! Glad there wasn't a chain reaction of accidents if he oversteered back into the lane! Seen that once, wasn't pretty!

...yeah, we're like 30km away from each other
so if you want I can help u fix-up ur bike, I know
a savage in and out by heart. Keep in touch.

I also have a little weekend story for you:

This weekend there were literally thousands of bikers
on the road cause of the nice weather + holidays,
mostly Dutch and eifel/mosel/rhine locals, anyway,
on Saturday while coming back from work I was
about to take this "fun-as-a-rollercoaster" curve
that I take everyday at about 50mph (75ish km/h)
BUT this time there was a group of bikers coming
down the other way I was afraid that they would invade
my lane and kill me since the curve is a bit tricky cause
it's the kind of curve that just when you think it's over
it's not and it's usually wet at the bottom because of the
trees so I adjusted and re-traced my curve about 1/2
yard to the right to give these guys some space, BAD idea.

As we all know at a certain speed "adjusting" a curve
trace by just a few inches will make a HUGE difference
in the outcome at the very end of that curve, so basically
I miscalculated and went off the road at the very end
by exactly that 1/2 a yard; I knew exactly that I was
about to fall, gulp.

With my usual dumb luck and cat-like reflexes I somehow
managed not to kiss the road and rather just went airborn
and bit enduro and got smacked by a branch till i slowed
down and got control of the bike again and pulled back into
the road as cool as a cucumber as if I had planed this all
along, even celebrating to myself with my left arm and fist.

Until today I still cannot believe (or understand how) I pulled
that one off  Cheesy ...either way I LOVE my new front Dunlop 404
and the light weight of the bike and am eternally grateful at
life's little 2nd chances and learning experiences, the end.

Wear ALL your gear, ALL the time!

Wow, thats a pretty intense ride you went on. Everybody keeps asking if I am going to sell my bike and stop riding, and to every one of them I say no. When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. I had one bad experience, I will learn from it and continue on my marry way. Anyway, we will definitely have to get together and ride once I am back up on my feet. I am just curious to see my bike now, kinda nervous at the extent of damage.

Jarrod, get well soon. Know that area as I taught off duty USAF and USA troops Automotive Technology using base hobby shops at first and then the old Bitburg HS Auto Shop out in the country. We lived on the economy near Lake Bitburg and then in another small burg closer to town. Used to drive the windy road from Bit to Spang almost every day. Did they close down Bitburg AB?

Stimpy we liked to go to the French O club in Trier for escargot and French Onion soup and an India restaurant outside the pedestrian shopping area for spring rolls. Luxembourg on the weekends. Great days there in the mid 70's

Bitburg as a base is closed. Now it is primarily housing, the old BX, commissary, high school and gas station. They are slowly working on moving all of that to Spang so they can close Bitburg for good. They have too many accidents on the B-50 as it is so they are using that for their reasoning.

OMG - I went to that Bitburg high school!!!  And I remember riding the blue air force school bus on the B-50 too. We used to count the Audis and Porche cars flying by.  Whoot! memory lane...  Roll Eyes
