Will a newer style S40 seat work on the older Savage bikes? I have a 2002 Savage and got to set on a 2009 S40 over the weekend. I really like the new seat and would like to put one on my 2002 model if it will fit without too much trouble.

I also liked the drag style bars on the 2009. Has anyone here swapped the newer seat and bars to an older Savage?

The seat will work but there won't be a hole in the rear of the fender for the bolt that holds the end of the S40 seat down. I lost that bolt on my S40 and rode over a year like that with no problems. The drag bars will work as well. it should be an easy swap since the cables for buck horn bars are longer. Going from drag bars to buck horns can require new/longer cables.
