It will work. Don't call me if it starts to smell bad and smoke  Wink

I used regular plumbing sylicone a few times on bikes for same purpose. Smells bad for few minutes, and still holds.

Resists high pressures to 5000 PSI
--------------------------------------------
How very misleading !
This stuff is not going to hold any pressure unless it is captured in a very tight place,....such as where it is taking the place of a very thin gasket,....or added to gaskets, which is what it is designed for.
In reality, it will probably not hold any hi pressure anytime anywhere.

Awww, it just smells bad for few minutes, been there, done that. A friend of mine tried to burn regular plumbing sylicone with a brazing propane torch - nothing! Turns red, and cools to normal state.
However, there's special dedicated stuff for exhaust fixes, I just don't have it available here.

I used some fiberglass resin to fill the oversized joint in an exhaust pipe.  I used some duct tape to seal the lower parts of the joint and let it flo into the joint.  smelled bad at first but held

its amazing how creative we cabn be in a pinch.

Tie,

I wouldn't use RTV there, if it were me.  However, if I was somehow compelled to use it, I'd use Permatex® Ultra Copper® Maximum Temperature RTV Silicone Gasket Maker.
