Battery breather tube?
06/15/10 at 12:16:25

Hi guys.

I am replacing my Big Crank gel battery with a standard one. This one comes with a breather tube. The tube is about 18 inches long and I have no idea where to run it. Is it really supposed to be that long?

Thanks,

Doug.

Run it down below the frame and you can cut it off if its to long.

Yep, just run it down through, where it hangs naturally when the battery is in position.  It will hang out the bottom.

Can I ask how old is your Big Crank, and why are you switching?

That was funny.  Smiley  I bought the Big Crank last fall. Ran it all the way down twice and it won't hold a charge anymore. (I bought a Battery Tender and it only charged it for two hours before showing that it was full. It started up when I put it on the Savage, but the next morning it was dead).

Don't you know you aren't supposed to run them all the way down, silly??  Just ribbing you.  Good luck with the new one!

Hey bill, 71 years old, and I bet its 18 inches too?  LOL

Strange,......in RV use, AGM batteries will take a lot of abuse, more so than regular lead acid. I hope it really is the battery at fault,.....if you're junking it.

Yep, simple as disconnecting a cable overnite.
