rear fender supports
03/27/10 at 19:19:03
Hey folks,
I'm wanting to install a sissy bar. I have an '07 boulevard s40. I'm having a really hard time finding the mounting for this and when I do it seems to come with the mounting and the sissy bar/rear rack and are crazy expensive.
I found a used set of fender supports and sissy bar from a 1987 savage. Does anyone know if the savage rear fender supports are interchangeable with s40 rear fender supports?
If I can switch them out does anyone see any drawbacks? Also can a rear rack be mounted on the older savage rear fender supports and sissy bar combo?
Thx much!

I'm pretty sure there will be some fender hole mis-alignments. The saddle bag brackets for bikes prior to 2005 won't fit the holes on the post 2005. They're a different shape and size so I'm guessing a '97 set up will require some work to make it fit an '07.

You'll just have to do a little drilling and fitting and fabricating, which equals MODIFICATING. We all do it.

The are different, but they are a perfect fit.
Different width too.

I don't need them now but I imagine you would get several offers if you posted this info in the marketplace section. Lots of us love having sissy bars.
