Mick, I think the idea was the animal be in the road.  He said you could have your bike (your car) off the side of the road.

Having said that, I think this one might need curbed for a while.  I saw 2 turtles on the road over the weekend, but they didn't count.

Maybe try it again later??

okay - weekend over - give us a NEW item to find!

I never found anything living - just the following dead this weekend = fox, racoon, opposum, cat, and a really big turtle.

seems like my roads are downright deadly.  Sad

Unbelievable..  I went through an entire herd of goats Saturday.

Oh well..

Here is the new search item.
Gasoline pump with a glass top.

Should look sorta like this:

While using this exact same pump would be.. sorta cheating?
Honorable mention will be given for you Ohio people that find the store and get a picture of that pump and your bike!  AND if nobody else can find one, you win!!!

Bonus points if it is actually working!!  Cheesy
Double bonus points if you put gas in your bike from it!  Grin

Sounds good youzguyz.

How about this -- we will leave the "animal" hunt (funny pun, haha) open, just in case someone gets lucky.  But when someone posts pics of the gas pump, and we start another new one, we will close the Animal for some future time.  Anybody see a problem with that?

Sounds good to me. I don't even know if I've ever seen a gas pump with a glass top like that before, so I think this one will be just as challenging for me to look for, but worth a try. Let's get out there  Grin  Grin  Grin

After looking at the picture, a bit of clarification might be needed.
The "glass" part is NOT the white thing on top.  It is the part just below that, covered with a metal screen.
I think you could actually see the gasoline flowing inside the pump.

They way they worked you pumped the gas up in the glass top and it show how many gallons(marks) then it went down into your car. I remember them.

The early pumps were called 'visible gas' pumps, with a... clear glass cylinder, usually 5 or 10 gallons on top of the pump, so you could see what you were getting, or if the gas was dirty (a big problem at that time). There was a manual pump you’d pull back and forth to pump the gas out of the underground tank into the cylinder, which was 8 or 10 feet tall. From there the gas flowed by gravity down the hose into the car.

Glad you clarified that.  I was looking at the globe on top.  I had one in mind, but I'm not sure if it has that mesh part...  hmmmm

Good luck folks... get out there and find one!

Yep, exactly.  Dad's neighbors back home used to have one in their yard that they used for gassing up everything from their vehicles to tractors around the ranch.  Last time I was past their place a few years ago, it was gone. Sad
