Ive left screws out of things & they still work, but springs arent generally optional.

I'd find that spring and get it in there.
most likely causing uneven running.
and sounds like you need to adjust idle.
or do you know how many turns out are you?

Not sure how many turns right at the moment been messing with it so much i need to re do all of that.
Just ordered a new spring and I'm going to put a few washers in place where the white spacer used to be for good measure. I dont know where i read to just take the spacer out all together and put nothing in its place

The stock washer is 0.110" thick.

In your case, leaving it out will make it worse.
