Tire Suggestions
11/22/09 at 15:27:18
Heys Guys! I'm getting ready to replace my tires on my bike and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on what brand of tire to get. I was riding on the IRC tires, but I only seem to get about 5-6 K Miles out of the rear tire. If I spend the extra money on Metzeler ME 880 vs the IRC or Dunlops- am I going to get more mileage out of the tire? What are you guys using?
Thanks, Matt

Pirelli Route 66, handles a lot better, doesn't follow road grooves, and improves the ride comfort.

Metzler MM880s are far and away the best tires I have ever ridden on. Great ride, awesome wet traction, unbelievably long tread wear. They are flat out great tires!

I put Metzler tires on both the S40 and Burgman scooter. I am very happy with them.

Pirelli Route 66 have a very deep tread design pattern for all weather riding, I ride whatever the weather so this is why I picked em.

Continental Milestones are good. I've been running them for about 30,000 km now and like them a lot. Good wear and peg-grinding grip.

Hey guys, thanks for all the feedback. i think I'm going to try the Metzelers. Hopefully they will last longer than the IRCs. You guys are an eclectic bunch- we've got the Midwest, England and New Zealand in the house!
Thanks, Matt

Hey Matt, just an FYI...I've heard, but can't verify, that you should stay away from the Metzler's from Brazil...

I have 8k miles on Bridgestone Spitfires and still have lots of life left.
raised white letters, look sharp if you like that kind of thing.
they made the stockers feel like banana peels when I changed em out.

My stockers were squirmy in corners. It felt like it was gonna lay down all the time. I think thats good on a starter bike. Keeps the rider riding as if riding on sand on cement.
