cunn1780 YaBB Newbies Offline My '87 Savage is older than me Posts: 12 Norman, OK Gender:	Oil drain plug location 10/14/09 at 15:31:09 I thought I saw somewhere on here a picture of where the plug actually is. Can anyone provide a link or at leat explain? I think it's the one running parallel with the frame on the bottom gear shifter side of the crank case. Thanks!

yeah, there's a pic somewhere.
lay down by the kickstand
look in directly behind it
on later models there will be a 14mm hex head bolt peaking at you from behind the frame
on early models it's a 17mm

The one pictured that is actually the real drain plug I would say is running perpendicular to the frame. Thanks for the help guys!

Being on the left side, its kinda outta sight. I now copied the pic, hung it in the shop.

i used a mirror to see the bolt, then while looking in the mirror i got confused which was to turn it(since it was upside down in the mirror) lol

u can see the top of the bolt if u look through the frame and stuff, sitting where the kickstand is.

oh and don't try to use a car oil collector, they don't even fit. i didn't have any old pans but i used an old tupperware and it worked just fine...

gotta use the thing on your shoulders as something other then a hat rack lol

After you get the plug out, lower it back down to let all the oil drain.
