Haven't been able to find a license plate mount that I wanted, so I made my own.
Bought a piece of .093" thick stainless. Whipped out my trusty HF abrasive cut off air tool and cut it up to fit. Bashed it into shape with a big hammer. Drill holes to match and ....

Looks sweet, and by supporting the full body of the plate, you shouldn't have the problem of vibration causing cracks in the plate, eventually leading to the plate becoming airborn!

the plate from the PO had both upper tabs torn off.
As you might notice there are no holes in the upper corners.
Waiting for the new plate

I did it that way too.
Problem I had was that I used the plastic screws with the fancy chrome covers. Came out one day and the whole tag and frame were gone. Doubt it was stolen. The frame was fairly heavy. I bet I lost it going across some RR tracks on the way to work. So when I got home I slapped on another motorcycle tag that I had laying around that wasn't expired yet and rode like that for a while. And I used real bolts and nuts.
Bling breaks.

I saw this on a band new Harley at the stealership the other day and am thinking about getting one or making one for the FireLizard. It is a side mounted plate mount but it swings back. Any thoughts?

Certainly looks built for a HD.
Must mount to the fender rail.

It could "accidentally" swing back enough to keep the Photo Enforcement cameras here in Phoenix from seeing it!

I like the swing plate. But it surely would be a reason for the cops to pull us over cause they cant see it...
