There are some great aircraft polishes for both paint and plastic.  I really like RejeX.  Totally avoid anything on plastic, especially windshields, unless is specifically says that it is recommended for acrylic (Plexiglass) or polycarbonate (Lexan).  Rain-X and imitators is OK only on the glass headlight lens.

I just use automotive wash soap and the sponge/mitt thingy like for the car, plus a plastic bristle veggie brush for around the cooling fins on the cylinder and rim/spokes and such.  Hose down with the finest mist setting on the garden sprayer thing.  Dry with thin cotton dish towel, although I'm sure there's better stuff for that.  Only thing I didn't get wet was the bar bag and saddlebags, took them off.

Not real fancy, but gets the bugs off! Wink

I have a motorcycle detailing business. Here's what I use.
Original spray cleaner-I get mine from Bike Bandit.

Flitz metal polish. any auto parts store

Eagle One nano wax. auto parts store

Totally waterless and none of this stuff will harm anything on your bike.

Another good one is Meguiars Quick Detailer.
