So I bent the frame bracket up abit and drilled into the frame for the pin. Now there's a double shear type connection, very stable. But I like your idea just to drill the seat bracket and I have some more quick pins that might work perfectly. Will try tonight.

I think I'm going to have to either use carriage bolts and wing nuts on the outside, or just drill out the hole and move up to a larger diameter pin. It was a great idea though.
