Handlebars and risers

I'm looking to switch out my handlebars and I'm think I'm going to go with a broomstick.  I'm wondering about the overall length - I've seen some on ebay as long as 33" which seems crazy long to me.  For those with broomsticks or drag bars - whats a good, comfortable length?  I've got the stock buckhorns on right now and that seems like a good span but the broomsticks are obviously going to pull me forward some.

I'd also like to switch up to to some longer risers - are there any specific sizes or types for the Savage?  I know they'll need to fit the 1 inch bars so will "Harley" specific risers also work on the Savage?

Thanks.

28-30" is a a good universal fit for most people.  If you find 32" broomstick bar for the same price as a shorter one, I'd get that, put it on and cut to fit.
